HC Deb 08 June 1904 vol 135 c1055
MR. CHARLES HOBHOUSE (Bristol, E.)

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether the pay of the General Officers Commanding-in-Chief in the United Kingdom will be according to rank or whether a fixed salary will be attached to the office; and, if so, what that amount will be.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Arnold-Forster.) I would prefer not to make a statement on this particular point until the whole question of the allocation and distribution of the commands has been settled, which I hope will be at an early date.
