HC Deb 08 June 1904 vol 135 c1068
SIR GILBERT PARKER (Gravesend)

I beg to ask the Postmaster-General whether he will inquire into the frequent complaints concerning careless sorting of newsletters in red covers, addressed to the editors of London newspapers; and whether, seeing that the newspapers pay a fee to have such letters specially sorted in the Saturday night mails, so that they may be available for delivery to their messengers on Sundays, he will take steps to see that the irregularities are discontinued.

THE POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Lord STANLEY,) Lancashire, Westhoughton

I will make inquiry into the matter referred to by the hon. Member, and acquaint him with the result.
