MR. MACVEAGH (Down, S.)

I beg to: ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he can state the result of the inquiry held last year at Ardglass, county Down, with reference to the close season for herring fishing, and also the result of the inquiry held several years previously.

MR. WYNDHAM

The application for a by-law was withdrawn in the course of the inquiry at Ardglass last year and no by-law was made. No similar inquiry was previously held in this locality.
