HC Deb 29 July 1904 vol 139 c87
MR. BENN (Devonport)

To ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether, in view of the rise in rents in the town of Devonport and the increased cost of food, he will consider the desirability of raising, in proportion, the minimum wage of unskilled workers in the Dockyard services.

(Answered by Mr. Pretyman.) This question, with others, will be carefully considered, and a decision conveyed to the men in answer to their petitions through the usual official channels.
