HC Deb 25 July 1904 vol 138 cc1028-9
MR. HARMSWORTH (Caithnessshire)

To ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether the gun sights of H.M.S. "Prince of Wales" were pronounced unsatisfactory on her gunnery trials; whether since going into commission the ship's artificers under the gunnery lieutenant have been engaged with such material as exists on board in altering the sights of the 6-inch guns; and whether the captain has decided that the 12-inch guns must remain as they are, it being impossible to make them efficient with the means at his disposal.

(Answered by Mr. Prettyman.) This Question was asked in identical terms by † See page 252. the hon. Member for South Tyrone on 27th June, and I must refer the hon. Member to the reply I then gave.†
