§ MR. TULLY (Leitrim, S.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he can state in how many cases during the last five years sentences of imprisonment without option of fine have been imposed by benches of magistrates in the county Roscommon on charges preferred by the police for alleged cruelty to animals; and who was the resident magistrate chairman at the petty sessions Court where such a sentence was imposed.
§ MR. WYNDHAMThere was one such case, details of which were given by me in answer to a Question by the hon. Member for South Roscommon on the. 13th June†. The presiding magistrate on the occasion was Mr. Holmes, resident magistrate.
