To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Liehtenant of Ireland if, in view of the fact that the losses sustained by the debenture holders and borrowers in the Irish Loan Fund banks is due to the incapacity of the Loan Fund Board and its inspectors, he will consider the advisability of introducing legislation to give relief to those people who have lost their savings by the laxity of a Government Board and its officers.

(Answered by Mr. Wyndham.) Any losses sustained by the debenture holders of insolvent loan fund societies are attributable to local mismanagement. In answer to the second part of the question, I refer to my reply to the hon. Member's previous Question of the 11th instant. †
