To ask the Secretary to the Admiralty when the Final Report of the Boiler Committee will be in the hands of Members; and whether he can give the House any statement as to the coal consumption in the case of Belleville boilers as compared with that in the case of Babcock boilers or Yarrow boilers.

(Answered by Mr. Pretyman.) The Pinal Report of the Boiler Committee was received on the 2nd instant, and is now under consideration. It is hoped that it will shortly be in the hands of Members. The coal used per H.P. per hour on the trials conducted by the Boiler Committee was as follows:—

Babcock and Wilcox 1.8 lbs. to 2.1 lbs.
Belleville 1.8 lbs. to 2.1 lbs.
Yarrow large tube 1.9 lbs. to 2.2 lbs.
