§ MR. J. P. FARRELLTo ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland to state by what authority pauper inmates of English and Scotch unions have recently been deported to Longford Union; and will an inquiry be made as to whether the provisions of the Act passed to prevent such deportation have been complied with.
(Answered by Mr. Wyndham.) The attention of the Local Government Board has not been called to any recent case of deportation of English or Scotch paupers to the Longford Union. If any specific instance is brought under the notice of the Board, in which it is alleged that the law has been violated, it will investigate the matter.
