HC Deb 04 July 1904 vol 137 cc478-9
MR. BOLAND

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he can state how many landlords owning estates in the congested districts of South Kerry have offered their estates to the Congested Districts Board for resale to the tenants; can he state the terms demanded from the Board; and has the condition of the money market militated against the successful operation of the Land Act of 1903 in the congested districts of Ireland?

MR. WYNDHAM

Negotiations are pending with eight landlords. Until these have been concluded no statement can be made in respect to the terms. The reply to the concluding query is in the negative.

MR. FLAVIN

What has been the price demanded by the landlords?

MR. WYNDHAM

It would be most improper for me to express any opinion as to the terms, either on one side or the other.
