HC Deb 29 February 1904 vol 130 c1210
SIR JOHN LENG (Dundee)

To ask the Secretary for Scotland whether the suggestion of the Scottish Arboriculture Society has been brought under his notice that the Government should acquire an estate for afforestation; and whether he will consider the practicability of combining with the proposal the acquisition of ground for a national park in a mountainous district within easy reach of the great centres of population in Scotland.

(Answered by Mr. A. Graham Murray.) I have received a resolution from the Royal Scottish Arboricultural Society to which I suppose the hon. Member refers. I am unable to entertain any such proposal as that made by the hon. Member in the latter part of his Question.
