HC Deb 25 February 1904 vol 130 cc995-6
MR. EDWARD MITCHELL (Fermanagh, N.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if there is any fund under the Department of Agriculture for Ireland or from any other source by which the inland navigation of Lough Erne, situate in the counties of Fermanagh and Cavan, could be subsidised and developed; and, if so, will he state what action the Department proposes to take in the matter.

MR. WYNDHAM

The aiding or facilitating the carriage and distribution of produce comes within the purposes of the Agricultural and Technical Instruction Act, 1899. The Department will consider any definite representations that may be made to it in this connection in respect of the inland navigation of Lough Erne.
