HC Deb 24 February 1904 vol 130 cc853-4
MR. JOYCE (Limerick)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he can state on what date the Department of Agriculture for Ireland expect to be able to publish the statistics of the shipments of butter from Ireland to this country, and will he explain why the Department have failed to do this.

MR. WYNDHAM

Some of the local bodies concerned are not yet in a position to furnish complete returns. When these have been received the Department will lose no time in publishing the statistics referred to.

MR. FLYNN (Cork Co., N.)

In view of the probable early introduction of the Butter Bill can we have the Return at once? It is important.

MR. WYNDHAM

I will represent that to the Department.

MR. FLAVIN

Will the right hon. Gentleman get statistics as to the importation into Ireland of foreign butter. We believe there is some mixing locally.
