HC Deb 18 February 1904 vol 130 c233
SIR JOHN COLOMB (Great Yarmouth)

To ask the Postmaster-General what, if any, alterations have been made in the mail service between the United Kingdom, British colonies or possessions, and Japan, consequent upon the outbreak of war between Japan and Russia.

(Answered by Lord Stanley.) The mail service to the Far East via Russia and Siberia is suspended; and correspondence marked for conveyance by that route has to be sent via Suez or across America as the case may be. Otherwise no alterations have been made in the arrangements connected with the transmission of mails between the United Kingdom her colonies and possessions, and Japan.
