I beg to ask the Secretary of State for India whether his attention has been drawn to the statement of the Viceroy in his Budget speech of 25th † These two amounts include a sum of £500,000, an advance repaid to the Imperial Treasury. March, 1903, that he hoped to deal in the ensuing year with the question of the separation of judicial and executive functions; and whether he can state what decision has been arrived at upon the Memorial of 1st July. 1899, presented to the Secretary of State on the subject in August, 1899.
