I beg to ask the Secretary of State for India whether his attention has been drawn to the statement of the Viceroy in his Budget speech of 25th† These two amounts include a sum of £500,000, an advance repaid to the Imperial Treasury.847 March, 1903, that he hoped to deal in the ensuing year with the question of the separation of judicial and executive functions; and whether he can state what decision has been arrived at upon the Memorial of 1st July. 1899, presented to the Secretary of State on the subject in August, 1899.
