HC Deb 08 February 1904 vol 129 c588
MR. FIELD (Dublin, St. Patrick)

I beg to ask the Postmaster-General whether, in view of the fact that the American mails delivered viâ Portsmouth take a longer time for delivery, especially in the commercial centres in the North of England and Scotland, than the mails carried riâ Queenstown and Dublin, he will arrange in future to continue the route most suitable to public convenience.

LORD STANLEY

The United States Post Office makes its own arrangements for the conveyance of the mails which it sends to this country, and I have, I am afraid, no control over its action.
