HC Deb 12 August 1904 vol 140 c403
SIR HENRY FOWLER (Wolverhampton, E.)

To ask the hon. Member for Chorley, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether he will, during the recess, complete the lighting of Palace Yard with incandescent gas lamps and also in the Speaker's Court.

(Answered by Lord Balcarres.) The improvement of the lighting of Old Palace Yard will receive consideration in connection with next year's Estimates. As regards New Palace Yard and Speaker's Court great improvement has lately been made, and there does not seem to be a necessity for much greater illumination, but this, too, shall be further looked into.
