HC Deb 09 August 1904 vol 139 c1548
MR. HERBERT ROBERTS (Denbighshire, W.)

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether his attention has been called to the conditions connected with the management of cells at police stations; and whether he will consider the desirability of instituting, at an early date, an inquiry into this subject.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Akers-Douglas.) My attention has not been specially called to this subject. Upon the information at present before me I have no reason to suppose that an inquiry such as the hon. Member has suggested to me is necessary; but if he is in possession of any evidence tending to show that there is need for an inquiry I shall be happy to consider it.
