McHUGHI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that the Earl of Shaftesbury, who is a member of the Congested Districts Board, has demanded from his county Antrim tenants a sum over and above the purchase price in consideration of the alleged suitability of their lands for building purposes; and whether he will direct the attention of the Estates Commissioners to this matter, in view of the provisions of Section 1 of the Act.
