HC Deb 04 August 1904 vol 139 cc974-5
DR. FARQUHARSON

To ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether it is his intention to take action on the lines of the Report of the Trustees of the National Portrait Gallery who have called attention once more to the congested state of the gallery, and have said that the time is at hand when the question of extending the National Portrait Gallery must be seriously considered.

(Answered by Mr. A. J. Balfour.) I find on inquiry that the possibility of extending the National Portrait Gallery on the West is being considered by the Departments concerned.
