HC Deb 04 August 1904 vol 139 c990
MR. CHARLES CRAIG

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he will state what is the cause of the delay in proceeding with the erection of the new school in Dungannon, for which a free site has been granted, and which has been approved by the Board of Works, and for which a scheme has been approved by the Commissioners of Education; and will he state when will the revised plans and estimates, for which the persons interested in this school have been waiting for eighteen months, be ready.

MR. WYNDHAM

In this case the Commissioners provisionally sanctioned a grant for a new school-house under the existing regulations. The applicant has since elected, however, to postpone the erection of a school-house pending a decision on the question of the revision of the plans and estimates.

MR. CHARLES CRAIG

May I remind the right hon. Gentleman that this has been delayed eighteen months?

MR. WYNDHAM

That is a matter for the Treasury and not for me.
