HC Deb 28 April 1904 vol 133 cc1431-2
SIR LEWIS MOLESWORTH (Cornwall, Bodmin)

To ask the hon. Member for North Huntingdonshire, as representing the President of the Board of Agriculture, whether, with the view of preventing damage to the fishing interest on the south coast of Cornwall from the proposed naval speed trials near the shore, the Government will consider the advisability of first taking the opinion of their † See page 849. fishing experts, and publish the report of such opinions.

(Answered by Mr. Ailwyn Fellowes.) We have not previously received any representations on this subject, and at the moment I can only refer to the statement recently made in another place by the First Lord of the Admiralty, with whom my noble friend the President of the Board has placed himself in communication. Any evidence which may be supplied to us in support of the suggestion that fishery interests have been, or are likely to be, adversely affected, will of course receive careful attention.
