HC Deb 28 April 1904 vol 133 cc1449-50
MR. EDWARD MITCHELL (Fermanagh, N.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he is aware that on the Ely Estate, count}' Fermanagh, over forty decrees have been recently granted for rent, and a promise given that they would not be executed till after the 2nd June, and. if so, whether he will take steps to expedite the passage of the Bill before that date, so that the estate may be sold to the tenants.

MR. ATKINSON (for Mr. WYNDAM)

Fifty-five Civil Bill decrees for rent were obtained against tenants on this estate at the Enniskillen Quarter Sessions. An intimation has been given to the parties, I understand, that no further steps will be taken against them until after the 19th May, the date fixed for the collection of rents. The inquiry in the second part of the Question should be addressed to the Prime Minister.
