HC Deb 26 April 1904 vol 133 c1189
MR. J. P. FARRELL Longford, N.)

I beg to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer if ho will state the total amount received from the tea duty in Ireland up to 31st March, 1904, or next nearest possible date.

MR. AUSTEN CHAMBERLAIN

I am not quite clear as to the meaning of the hon. Member's Question, but I may tell him that the total amount of duty received on tea in Ireland for the financial year 1903–4 was £340,022.

MR. LOUGH (Islington, W.)

Does the right hon. Gentleman happen to have the amount of the Treasury estimate of the tea duty on the tea consumed in Ireland?

MR. AUSTEN CHAMBERLAIN

No, I have not the figures, but if the hon. Member will put a Question down I will try and get him the information.
