HC Deb 21 April 1904 vol 133 cc848-9
MR. LOGAN (Leicestershire, Harborough)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether See page 692. his attention has been directed to Professor Sheäfer's experiments on dogs; and whether, seeing that 109 doctors entered a protest against the experiments as being cruel and useless, he proposes to take any action in the matter.

* MR. AKERS-DOUGLAS

Yes, Sir; the memorial to which the hon. Member refers has received my most careful consideration, together with all the circumstances of the case; but for reasons which I explained in answer to Questions last year I did not feel justified in disallowing the experiments.
