HC Deb 18 April 1904 vol 133 c375
MR. WEIR

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for India, having regard to the recommendations made by Lord Curzon, will he consider the expediency of communicating with the Postmaster-General, and with the telegraph companies concerned, with a view to secure a reduction in the rates on telegrams to India from 2s. 6d. to 2s. per word, and a corresponding reduction in the Press rates.

MR. BRODRICK

The recommendations made by the Government of India are now under consideration, and the expediency of communicating with the telegraph companies with a view to the proposed reduction of rates will be duly considered.
