To ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will lay upon the Table of the House the Departmental Return showing the state of the income-tax collection at the end of the months of January, February, and March for England, Scotland, and Ireland.

(Answered by Mr. Austen Chamberlain.) The Returns in question are of a purely Departmental character; they are prepared on quite a different basis for England and Scotland respectively, and the figures would require a large amount of readjustment before they could be used for the purposes of comparison, and under the circumstances I do not propose to lay them.
