HC Deb 14 April 1904 vol 133 c195
SIR WALTER FOSTER (Derbyshire, Ilkeston)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he has received a report on the plague from the Governor of Hong-Kong; and, if so, can he state the number of cases of plague reported there during the first three months of this year, and the number of deaths.

* MR. LYTTELTON

According to the weekly telegraphic reports from Hong-Kong on the subject, which are regularly communicated to the Press as soon as received, there have been eleven cases of plague and eleven deaths at Hong-Kong this year up to the 9th of April. I have received no detailed report as to the occurrence of plague during the current year, but I have given instructions that a report of the acting medical officer of health on the epidemic of plague during the first seven months of last year, which has just been received, should be sent to the hon. Member.
