HC Deb 26 May 1903 vol 122 cc1800-1
MR. WEIR (Ross and Cromarty)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware that 117 cases of plague, resulting in ninety-nine deaths, are reported to have occurred at Hong Kong in one week during the present month; and will he state when he proposes to lay upon the Table of the House the reports of the medical and sanitary experts, Professor Simpson and Mr. Robert Chad wick, who visited Hong Kong last year in connection with the plague.

MR. J. CHAMBERLAIN

I am aware of the facts quoted by the hon. Member, which were reported to me by the Governor in a telegram which was communicated to the Press. I do not propose to lay the Reports referred to on the Table but I have caused copies to be placed in the Library.
