§ MR. WEIRTo ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the Bill to amend the laws relating to public health and buildings which was recently under 1798 consideration in the Legislative Council of Hong Kong has yet been sanctioned.
(Answered by Mr. Secretary Chamberlain.) The Bill referred to has been passed and brought into operation. The ordinance was recently received in this office, but has not yet been sanctioned, as its provisions, which are numerous and complicated, require careful examination.
