HC Deb 25 May 1903 vol 122 c1645
COLONEL STOPFORD-SACKVILLE (Northamptonshire, N.)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether he is now in a position to give a definite reply to the memorial, which was presented to him by certain Members of Parliament in March last, asking him to introduce legislation for the purpose of constituting a new Bishopric of Southwark, in accordance with the provisions of the Bill which was read a second time in the House last session.

THE PRIME MINISTER AND FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. A. J. BALFOUR,) Manchester, E.

The question is still under consideration, but I hope very shortly to have the matter settled and to make an announcement.
