HC Deb 18 May 1903 vol 122 cc925-6
MR. SCHWANN (Manchester, N.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for India whether the administration of Burmah is now a charge upon the Indian revenues, or whether there is a balance shown in favour of Burmah; and will he say what is the amount in either case.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR INDIA (Lord GEORGE HAMILTON,) Middlesex, Ealing

In 1901–2, the last year for which final accounts are available, the revenue of Burmah exceeded its civil expenditure by about £1,800,000.
