HC Deb 11 May 1903 vol 122 c287
SIR JOHN COLOMB (Great Yarmouth)

To ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can state on what sections of the land line of telegraphic communication between the United Kingdom and Australia, viâ Canada and the Pacific Cable, the several interruptions have taken place; whether any section of the land line was specially laid in connection with the Pacific Cable; and, if so, what section.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Chamberlain.) All the interruptions occurred on the land line between the cable station at Bamfield and Vancouver City, the western portion of which line was specially constructed for the Pacific Cable traffic.
