Member for Edinburgh and St. Andrew's Universities, I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether he proposes to take any steps towards putting into effect the recommendations contained in the Third Report of the Royal Commission on the Disposal of Sewage recently laid before Parliament.
THE SECRETARY TO THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. GRANT LAWSON, Yorkshire, N.R., Thirsk)The Report referred to has only recently been issued, and the evidence on which it is based has not yet been published. The recommendations contained in the Report involve questions of very considerable importance, and I am not at present in a position to state what course should be adopted in the matter. The subject, however, is receiving my consideration.
