HC Deb 01 May 1903 vol 121 c1134

On the order for the Second Reading of this Bill being read.

SIR CHARLES RENSHAW (Renfrewshire, W.)

objected to this business being taken now.

MR. ASHER (Elgin Burghs)

appealed to his hon. friend not to oppose the Bill. He believed the Scottish Office approved of the measure being read a second time and sent to the Standing Committee on Law. It was very much desired in Scotland, and it was introduced at the request of all the towns affected by it.

SIR CHARLES RENSHAW

declined to withdraw his objection.

Second Reading deferred till Monday next.
