HC Deb 31 March 1903 vol 120 c683
MR. TOULMIN (Lancashire, Bury)

To ask the Secretary to the Board of Education if he will explain why it is proposed to appoint as superintendent of the Type-writing Department to be formed at the Board of Education a lady who is over the age prescribed by the Treasury Minute of 17th March, 1894.

(Answered by Sir William Anson.) In forming a new section of women typists, the Board of Education think it advisable to place in charge a lady of experience. The Treasury have expressed their agreement with this view, and have given their consent to the appointment.
