HC Deb 30 March 1903 vol 120 c559
MR. O'DOHERTY (Donegal, N.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he will consider the advisability of giving a grant out of the Marine Works Act for the construction of the proposed new road over the Knockalla Mountain, towards which the Congested Districts Board have already promised a grant of £1,000.

(Answered by Mr. Wyndham.) The contribution referred to in the second part of the Question was offered in 1898, but lapsed because of the non-fulfilment of the condition upon which it was promised. The Board has no funds at present to enable it to renew the offer. I cannot undertake to assist the project out of the moneys provided by the Marine Works Act.
