HC Deb 30 March 1903 vol 120 c574
* MR. BOLAND (Kerry, S.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he can state what assistance will be given by the Congested Districts Board to improve the landing place and beach at Counakilla, near Glenbeigh, County Kerry, to enable the small farmers of the district to draw sand for the improvement of their holdings; and can he state the date of the visit of the Board's engineer to report on the proposed improvement, and whether the opinion of inhabitants of the district was sought.

* THE CHIEF SECRETARY FOR IRELAND (Mr. WYNDHAM,) Dover

This matter has been recently before the Board. The decision arrived at was that any benefits that might accrue from carrying out the proposed work would not be commensurate with the expense entailed. The Board's engineer has not made an inspection.
