HC Deb 30 March 1903 vol 120 cc556-7
MR. O'SHAUGHNESSY (Limerick, W.)

To ask the Postmaster-General if he has yet inquired into the postal service in the Granagh district, in the county of Limerick, with a view to its improvement; and, if so, will he state his decision in the matter.

(Answered by Mr. Austen Chamberlain.) I have just completed my inquiries on this subject arising out of the memorial from the Granagh Co-operative Dairy Society, which the hon. Member forwarded on the 24th ultimo. I find that it can be arranged to send correspondence for Granagh, as desired, by way of Ballingarry instead of by way of Ballinleeny. The delivery will then take place about an hour and a half earlier than at present, and a letter box will be placed at Granagh with a collection at 3.45 p.m. on weekdays. The circumstances do not, however, warrant the cost of affording a delivery or collection on Sundays. I propose to carry out these changes.
