HC Deb 26 March 1903 vol 120 c311
* MR. HUGH LAW (Donegal, W.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether it is intended to complete the approach road to Gortnasate Harbour under the provisions of the Marine Works Act; and whether, in view of the fact that a large part of the male population of the district will, if work be not provided during this summer in the neighbourhood of their homes, migrate to Scotland within the next few weeks, it is intended to commence immediately the works contemplated at Gortnasate and Falchorrib.

MR. WYNDHAM

I have made proposals to the County Council in respect to works at both places named. Some little time may elapse before an agreement is reached with the Council. If an agreement is concluded, the approach road at Gortnasate must be made under the provisions of the Act, but not necessarily from its funds.
