To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he can state how many prosecutions were instituted for sheep scab in Ireland during last year, the amount of fines imposed, and the localities in which the prosecutions were instituted.

(Answered by Mr. Wyndham.) There were 221 such prosecutions, resulting in 214 convictions; the total amount of fines imposed was £163 8s. The prosecutions were instituted in every part of Ireland, with the exception of the counties of Armagh, Donegal, Londonderry, Louth, Monaghan, Queen's County, Sligo, and the county boroughs of Belfast, Limerick, Londonderry, and Waterford.
