HC Deb 19 March 1903 vol 119 cc1217-8
COLONEL LOCKWOOD (Essex, Epping)

To ask the Secretary to the Treasury if he will explain why the Sanitary Inspector at Waltham Abbey is not allowed to visit the Government houses and cottages, as well as the houses of private owners.

(Answered by Mr. Hayes Fisher.) Under Clause 327 of the Public Health Act of 1875 War Department property is exempted from disturbance or interference on the part of the Local Authority.

It does not appear, moreover, that the local sanitary inspector has ever made any attempt to visit Government houses at Waltham.
