To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether any, and, if so, what steps have been taken to secure that reasonable rates and fares only shall be charged on the Burtonport Extension Railway recently but out of public moneys and leased to the Lough Swilly Railway Company.

(Answered by Mr. Wyndham.) The extent to which the new department can intervene in such matters is defined by Section 17 of The Agriculture and Technical Instruction (Ireland) Act, 1899. No representations have been made to the department under the provisions £ this section.
