§ CAPTAIN NORTONI beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether he will consider the advisability of employing retired officers of the Army Veterinary Department as purchasing officers under the proposed rules for the reorganisation of the Army Remount Department, in view of the saving to the State that would be effected thereby.
§ MR. BRODRICKA veterinary officer's responsibility is purely professional, and is limited to the soundness and age of the animals purchased. It is not considered advisable to employ him as a purchasing officer, who has to determine the fitness of horses in point of breeding, appearance, strength and action.
