HC Deb 16 March 1903 vol 119 c837
MR. CORBETT (Glasgow, Tradeston)

To ask the Lord Advocate if local authorities in Scotland are empowered to make provision for the treatment of consumption as an infectious disease.

(Answered by Mr. A. Graham Murray.) Having in view the general scope of the provisions as to infectious diseases contained in the Notification Act and the Public Health Act, the employment of public funds by the local authority in the way suggested by the hon. Member would raise a legal question affecting the ratepayers, on which, as I have no authority to determine it, I must respectfully decline to give an opinion.
