HC Deb 13 March 1903 vol 119 c732
MR. LOCKIE (Devonport)

To ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether he will consider the advisability of arranging that the present officers of the Royal Marines should have the option under the new scheme of completing their service on the terms under which they joined, of being turned over to the Army, or of being pensioned now at a proportionate rate to which they would have been entitled if they had completed their term of service.

(Answered by Mr. Arnold-Forster.) As the officers at present serving in the Royal Marines will complete their service on the terms under which they joined, except as regards their pay which has been increased, no question arises of any such option as that mentioned in the Question.
