§ MR. DELANY (Queen's County, Ossory)I beg to ask the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that the wife of a policeman stationed in the village of Castletown, Queen's County, has been appointed postmistress there; and, in view of the inconvenience of the premises, whether he will state who recommended this postmistress, and lay upon the Table of the House a copy of the memorial from the inhabitants of Castletown and district recommending Mrs. Murphy for the appointment.

§ MR. DELANYHad the husband resigned about the time of the appointment of his wife?
§ MR. AUSTEN CHAMBERLAINThe post was offered to the wife on the condition that her husband did resign.
