§ MR. WILLIAM REDMONDMay I ask whether, in view of the fact that the Speaker left the Chair last night because there was no business before the House, the First Lord of the Treasury will so arrange the business as to prevent this waste of time in future.
§ MR. A. J. BALFOURI must congratulate the House upon the well-earned leisure they have obtained by not discussing the Supplementary Estimates at the length to which we have unfortunately been accustomed to have them discussed in years past. I think it may result in an advantage which we might often have if we curtailed our discussions on less important matters—the time to deal with a subject in which I know the House feels a deep interest. I propose to-morrow to give the House a chance of discussing the Committee of Defence, and I shall put down a Resolution to enable that Question to be raised.
§ MR. WILLIAM REDMONDIf the right hon. Gentleman has any spare half-hours I have lots of things I can bring on.
