HC Deb 17 June 1903 vol 123 c1161
MR. T. M. HEALY (Louth, N.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether there is, or soon will be, a vacancy in the office of chief clerk in the Registry of Deeds Office, Dublin; and whether, seeing that of the four chief officers of the department at present only one is a Roman Catholic, he will, when the occasion arises, appoint a Roman Catholic to the chief clerkship.

(Answered by Mr. Elliot.) A vacancy in the office of chief clerk in the Registry of Deeds Office, Dublin, will occur on the 7th July next. The Treasury will appoint the person considered to be best qualified for the position, without reference to the religious denomination to which he may belong.
