O'DOHERTY (Donegal, N.)I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty if, in the re-adjustment of the relative ranks of medical and accountant officers of the Royal Navy, the position of senior assistant paymasters is to be removed; whether the rank of staff paymaster is to be abolished and an increased rank to be given to the senior officers of the department corresponding with that of chief paymasters in the Army.

Gentleman, therefore, to await this announcement, as no useful purpose could be served by giving information on points of detail pending the publication of the scheme as a whole.
